True Discipleship

My father passed away seven years ago.  My sweet Rebekah was only two when he passed and I have endeavored to teach her some of the things that he instilled into my life, wisdom that only came from my father.  He would tell me as soon as I blurted ugliness out of my mouth, “Lorrie Lynn, If you can’t say anything good, then don’t say anything at all.”  Goodness, I miss him. The thought of not sharing his words and his life with her never crossed my mind.  It is the only remnant left of his living.

Isn’t that quite like discipleship?  Listen to these words:  “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.” Matthew 28:20

True Christ followers are few, not because Christ is so small, because we make him obsolete and dead in our journey.  Today, share Christ with someone.  Just like I share my father with my daughter, share Christ.  Purpose to allow Him to be large in your lives.  True discipleship comes from knowing Christ, and sharing Him with others. No more obsolete God. Resurrect Him in your life, resurrect Him in your conversation, and He will be with you until the end of age.
