I have said and used Proverbs 29:18 in error, never finishing the whole text. I’ve stopped at “without vision, the people perish.” Stopping. Leading me to contort the word, that if I kept a vision–a goal out in front of me, it would be more easily attained.
If we study scripture (written word), the truth of Proverbs 29:18 is completely different. Think about it, where there is no Revelation, no encounter with God, people perish. But happy is he who keeps the law.
Vision, revelation–an encounter with God–without it, we wander, unrestrained–away to the point of death, spiritual death.
So in 2018, Let us walk…
Restrained so that we respect the word of God.
Restrained so that we do not wander from the Word-the Truth-the Vision.
Restrained so that we lay aside every weight and sin which so easily ensnares us.
Walk with restraint so that we may run with endurance.
Lord, in our daily lives, in our work, in our relationships, in our words, may every aspect of it be restrained to Your will, Your calling, Your teachings, Your truth–in wisdom and revelation.
